Vienna Boys Choir Residence

The origins of the Vienna Boys Choir date back to 1498, when Emperor Maximilian I chose to have 6 boys sing at his court. 520 years later, the Vienna Boys Choir has around 100 active members, divided into four concert choirs sharing the tours, service in the Hofburgkapelle, concerts and performances. The choirs are named after four composers, who are all closely connected with the history of the Vienna Boys Choir – Anton Bruckner, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert.
